The ENG2D CPT has three components, a nonfiction article analysis, writing in role, formal academic paragraph responce. All components are written in class. Please see the course calendar for the dates.
A nonfiction article based on The Taming of The Shrew will be handed out after we review the CPT.
You will read it. Dictionaries will be provided. You may ask clarification questions. You may take notes on the article.
The article is then returned to me.
On CPT Day 1, I will return your article to you. You will be given 5 multiple choice questions (K) and 4 short answer (T) questions to complete based on the article.
Part A of the CPT is due at the end of Day 1.
On CPT Day 2 you will use one of the novels we have studied to place yourself in the role of a secondary/supporting/minor character. Recount one specific event that the main character experienced, through their eyes (A).
You will be given foolscap in class on Day 2, and returned to you on Day 3.
Part B of the CPT is due at the end of Day 3.
On CPT Day 4 you will choose one of the novels that we have studied, excluding the one you chose for CPT Part B. Show how the author develops a theme in the text (C). You may bring in a sheet of paper with quotes (only quotes, nothing else) from the novel that you have already prepared. Your MLA style response will be 1 formal paragraph in length.
Foolscap will be provided. Double space your answer.
Part C of the CPT is due at the end of Day 4.
